Who We Are / Our Mission and Approach:
The LAM Treatment Alliance (LTA) is a Harvard-Square-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working globally to fast-track Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) research by aggressively and strategically driving, fostering and funding collaborative, high-impact research and patient partnerships dedicated to finding an effective treatment for LAM in time for patients alive today. We are a case study in a visionary approach to accelerating the pace of disease-focused medical research for greater patient impact. LAM is a multi-system disease, often fatal in the lungs, primarily affecting women in their childbearing years.
Together, with the MIT Media Lab, the LAM Treatment Alliance has created a data ecosystem that can be developed and mined collaboratively by the global patient, researcher and clinician members of the LAM community.
We are now hiring to fill a new position for Web Manager.
Position Description:
Half-time position working for a Harvard Square-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization managing and fostering community on an innovative web site that supports collaboration between and among patients and scientists involved in the search for an effective therapy and disease eradication.
Responsibilities Include:
Updating content, Responding to questions, Participation in / Facilitation of the online community, Project management of site maintenance and its ongoing development.
Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, web savvy, experience with online social networking, social skills working with sensitive medical issues, biological or health science background, good organizational and time-management skills, highly attentive to detail, reliable; self-motivated with excellent follow-through. Must be able to communicate broadly to different audiences and adhere to strict confidentiality/ non-disclosure.
Desirable But Not Required:
Bilingual to ease interactions with global user population, willingness to travel and to serve as advocate for the Site, knowledge of HTML, comfort making presentations, experience in the medical research arena.

Initial salary $25k-$35k, flexible hours, commensurate with relevant experience. Opportunities for expanded hours and responsibilities in near future.
