Jonathan Chaplin, LLM -New York, New York
Jonathan Chaplin is a strategy consultant, advising communications companies on strategy, merger & acquisitions, capital deployment and capital structure. He also manages a portfolio of private equity investments that span a wide range of industries including healthcare, restaurants and agriculture. Previously, Mr. Chaplin served as Executive Director and Senior Analyst covering the Communications Services sector at JPMorgan. While in equity research, Mr. Chaplin was repeatedly recognized as a leader in the industry including being recognized as "Best on The Street" among Telecom analysts by the Wall Street Journal, second for stock picking among Telecom analysts by Forbes Magazine and as a leading stock picker among analysts covering all industries by Institutional Investor Magazine. Prior to joining Equity Research, Mr. Chaplin was an investment banker in the Telecom Media and Technology Group and the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at JPMorgan. He has also helped start and run two entrepreneurial ventures, a magazine and a restaurant. Mr. Chaplin holds a BA and an LLB (J.D. equivalent) from the University of Cape Town.

Joan Rachlin, JD, MPH -Boston, MA
Joan Rachlin, JD, MPH, is the Executive Director of Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R), an organization dedicated to educating, informing, and providing a forum for those involved in the ethical, legal, and policy dimensions of research. Ms. Rachlin holds a JD from the Suffolk University School of Law and an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. In addition to her work with PRIM&R, Ms. Rachlin practiced law for many years, concentrating in the areas of health law and civil rights. She has taught at several Boston area colleges and lectured extensively on issues relating to research ethics and women's health. Ms. Rachlin is a contributor to the well-known book, Our Bodies, Ourselves, and serves on the Advisory Committee of the Boston Women's Health Book Collective.

Sara Smith Smirin - Los Angeles, CA
Sara Smith Smirin has a background in fundraising, event marketing and non-profit management. She has worked with non-profit organizations in numerous capacities for 14 years. In her 8 years at Pallotta TeamWorks, Sara was part of the team responsible for growing the AIDS Rides and Breast Cancer Walks into record breaking fundraisers. Initially Sara oversaw the marketing and sponsorship team for the AIDS Rides, and then went on to be Managing Director of California AIDS Ride, and the National Director for the 10 Avon Breast Cancer 3 Days. Sara also has experience with marketing, sponsorship and events in the for-profit world, having worked as the Director of Marketing at Garage.com in Palo Alto and advised several smaller start-up businesses. Sara has played an active role in helping to launch several small non-profit organizations and continues to advise them on operations and fundraising. Sara is a graduate of the University of Michigan and currently lives in Los Angeles.
